Since that time, the institution has been through many changes. At first it was a teachers’ training school, then a two-year seminary, and now it is a teachers’ training college, that awards Equivalent salary scales to B.A. and M.A. degrees, with about 1,000 regular female students studying at the parent institution in Kfar Chabad, and in the Safed branch.
Since 2010, the college has been running a joint one-year study program with the Shaanan Academic Religious Teachers' College in Haifa, where third year graduates do their fourth year of studies, which grants them an academic B.ed in addition to the teaching certificate that they receive from the Beit Rivka College.
The main major at the college is in Oral Law. The college also offers five additional majors: Jewish Bible, math, English, science and Informal education.
The college runs four study tracks: preschool, elementary school, junior high school, and a multi-age special education track.
Apart from the regular curriculum, the “Askila” Center — a professional development center for teachers — serves working male and female teachers who are interested in acquiring advanced teachings skills, and in improving their salaries, up to an M.A. level.
The college has five buildings at its disposal, which are used for classrooms, administrative offices, an expansive modern library, computer laboratories, editing studios, a pedagogical resource center and dormitories for female students.
The college’s worldview is based on the principles of Chabad: spreading Hasidic Jewish values and instilling them among all sectors of the nation. The college’s goal is to establish a team of professional teachers who, out of inner conviction and a sense of mission, act to implement their credo in the field of teaching.
Bet Rivka college has been blessed with extraordinary high quality students. These students are the best youngsters among the Chabad community ,who are highly motivated to teach the children of Israel at every spot wherever they are.
Indeed ,During its more than 60 years of existence, the college — in its various different forms — has trained thousands of school and preschool teachers who work all over Israel and the diaspora. These teachers are active in the fields of teaching, education and the strengthening of Jewish identity, in the best of the welcoming tradition of the Chabad movement.
